Outpatient Drug Rehab - Treating Addiction From Home

Receiving treatment at an outpatient drug rehab, outpatient detox, or Suboxone doctor allows patients with less severe substance use disorders to receive addiction therapy from home.

Intensive Outpatient Program

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) are designed to help clients who have just completed a partial or residential treatment program get help in their everyday life. These programs are largely focused on assisting clients in becoming self-sufficient in the community. Additionally they provide a plan for long-term mental health maintenance and ongoing sobriety following treatment completion. IOP is very useful for clients who commute to the rehab facility from sober living.

Clients participate in a variety of individual and group therapy sessions focused on improving or recovering social skills, independent living abilities, and practical life management skills. Ultimately, the goal is to better support their psychological, physical, and social health.

Intensive outpatient programs usually meet several days per week for several hours per session. In this way, IOP programs provide the highest level of outpatient care aside from partial hospitalization programs (PHP). However, studies show that the skill of the therapist has a much greater influence on the effectiveness of outpatient treatment programs compared to inpatient treatment.

In other words, it is extremely important to find the right outpatient drug rehab, rather than settling for whatever is most convenient. While 1 Solution Detox does not offer outpatient drug rehab programs, we provide our West Palm Beach rehab patients with referrals upon completing inpatient treatment. We always suggest continuing care at a top intensive outpatient treatment center in Florida.

Outpatient Detox

Many providers in South Florida and Palm Beach offer a form of outpatient rehab called outpatient detox (also known as ambulatory detox). During outpatient detox, patients who are physically dependent on drugs or alcohol go to the medical facility daily to receive their detox medications and get physically assessed.

Importantly, patients must be medically and clinically cleared before starting treatment at an outpatient detox. For example, if a patient is likely to experience severe withdrawal symptoms, it is not recommended that they complete detox without the constant medical supervision of an inpatient setting. If you or a loved one need detox, check out our South Florida Detox Center or give us a call.

Outpatient Alcohol Detox

Outpatient alcohol detox protocol involves 3 to 7 days of daily treatment sessions. Typically, medications like benzodiazepines and anti-convulsant drugs are administered at each session. Because of the risk of serious withdrawal symptoms like seizures and delirium tremens, patients who qualify for outpatient alcohol detox are carefully assessed.

There are several advantages of completing alcohol detox at an outpatient rehab. First, it can be less expensive than inpatient treatment. Next, the average duration of treatment is shorter. Finally, patients can continue to keep up with responsibilities like work and family.

However, daily treatment sessions can last several hours making it difficult still to manage these responsibilities. For more information, give us a call or check out our West Palm Beach alcohol detox program.

Risks of Outpatient Detox

If you are considering Palm Beach outpatient detox, you should be aware of the risks. The most obvious risk of outpatient detox at any program is that you could experience potentially life-threatening medical complications once you leave the outpatient treatment facility.

In addition, there are other risks worth considering. For example, studies show that patients who detox at an outpatient drug rehab are much less likely to complete their treatment. Not attending treatment while you are still detoxing almost always results in relapse.

Additionally, even if you do complete your outpatient detox treatment, you are not protected from temptation during the vulnerable time of early recovery. You may still be surrounded by alcohol and drugs at home and throughout your daily routine. In addition, if you have adverse or disruptive family or job situations, they could impact your chance for success.

For these reasons, 1 Solution Detox does not offer outpatient drug or alcohol detox. Most importantly, we believe that quality of care should never be sacrificed for convenience. We are committed to providing the treatment, medically and clinically, that is most likely to set our patients up for long-term sobriety. Suboxone Doctors in Florida

Similar to outpatient detox, Suboxone doctors in Florida will provide medication for opioid withdrawal in an outpatient setting. However, suboxone clinics often prescribe the medication for long periods of time. In this case, suboxone is not used for detox but as an opioid replacement therapy agent.

Patients will see their suboxone doctor once every few weeks for a drug test and a medication refill. Suboxone prevents people from getting a high from opiates, but it is ineffective against other substances. Suboxone is most successful in treating addiction when administered for a short length of time or in conjunction with a structured medication-assisted treatment program.

Certainly, Suboxone can be a great medication for helping patients with an opioid use disorder get clean and straighten out their lives. However, it is important that suboxone treatment is used in combination with therapy or other forms of treatment.

Suboxone doctors in Palm Beach may write you a prescription, but they will not help you address the underlying factors that contribute to your cyclical pattern of addiction. So, if you are serious about treating your substance abuse, give our friendly rehab center staff a call to see what 1 Solution Detox can do for you.
